Mr. Arun Alagappan
Non-Executive Chairman
Mr. Arun Alagappan is the Non-Executive Chairman of the Company. He has done his Graduation in Commerce from the University of Madras and completed the ‘Owner President/Management Program’ from Harvard Business School at Boston, USA.
Mr. Alagappan started his career with GE Capital Services India in 1997. After a two-year stint with GE, he joined the Murugappa Group in 1999 in Parryware, part of E.I.D Parry (India) Limited. Between 2005 to 2017, he served in Tube Investments of India Limited heading various divisions and functions before eventually becoming the President & Business Head of TI Cycles. In August 2017 Mr. Alagappan was appointed as Executive Director of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited and subsequently as the Managing Director in November 2019. He held this position until February 14, 2021, prior to joining Coromandel International Limited. He holds directorship in various other companies including Coromandel International Limited, Lakshmi Machine Works Limited and Thirumalai Chemicals Limited.
Dr. Raghuram Devarakonda
Managing Director & CEO
Dr. Raghuram Devarakonda has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California, Berkeley.
He did his post-doctoral research fellowship at the University of Vienna and has a B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai. He has over 28 years of experience in the Indian industry and business consulting. Dr. Devarakonda started his career as a management consultant with Accenture, Mumbai.
He also worked for the Murugappa Group as Head Corporate Strategy and Planning Department and was the Business Head of Tl cycles for about 6 years. Later, in his second stint with Accenture, he was Managing Director (Partner) – Strategy. He also served as Chief Operating Officer at Ramco Cements.
Mr. S Sankarasubramanian
Non-Executive Director
He is a Graduate in Mathematics from the University of Madras and is a member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of India. He has done his Advanced Management Program (AMP) at Harvard Business School in the year 2009.
He has been with the Murugappa Group since 1993 and has close to 30 years of experience in Finance, Operations, and General Management. He started his career with E.I.D Parry (India) Limited in Corporate Finance and held various positions in Finance before moving to Coromandel International Limited in 2003. He became Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Coromandel in 2011. After serving over 5 years as CFO he moved to head the Fertiliser Business of Coromandel in the year 2017 and is currently the Managing Director & CEO of Coromandel International Limited.
Mr. Sankarasubramanian has vast experience in Business Strategy, General Management, M&A and driving Policy Interventions especially for the Fertiliser Sector. He is currently on the boards of Fertiliser Association of India, Tunisian Indian Fertiliser S.A., Tunisia, Foskor (Pty) Ltd. South Africa and some of the subsidiaries of the company.
Prof. M. Lakshmi Kantam

Prof. M. Lakshmi Kantam holds a B.Sc., M.Sc. & Ph.D degree. She is a seasoned professional with over 40 years of research experience in design and development of Catalysts & Process Chemistry. Currently, she is serving as the Dr. B. P Godrej Distinguished Professor of Green Chemistry and Sustainability Engineering at the Department of Chemical Engineering, in the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India. She served as Director at CSIR-IICT, Hyderabad. She is currently serving as Board member at Godavari Bio Refineries Limited, Prasol Chemicals Limited and Vinati Organics Limited.
Mr. Suresh Subramanian

Mr. Suresh Subramanian is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate from Shriram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
Mr. Suresh Subramanian has, over the past 40 years, gained wide experience in the auditing and accounting profession, having worked with many of the Big Four accounting firms in India. During his career, he was the lead audit partner on various clients (both Indian as well as multinational corporations). He is experienced in carrying out audits under various GAAPs and has also performed various audit related services.
He has a strong understanding and knowledge of accounting requirements and complexities across several industry segments, having led or been involved in audits and other engagements of national and multinational corporations.
Mr. Sanjiv Lal
Independent Director
Mr. Sanjiv Lal is a Chemical Engineer, having earned a B.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 1983. Additionally, he has pursued executive development to enhance his leadership capabilities, including the Management Development Program at IMD Switzerland in 2000 and the Tata Strategic Leadership Program in 2007.
Sanjiv’s career is marked by extensive experience across two iconic organisations, the Tata Group and Hindustan Unilever. He served as the Managing Director and CEO of Rallis India Ltd, a listed subsidiary of Tata Chemicals and a leading crop care company, from 1st April 2019 to 31st March 2024. He was instrumental in driving Rallis India’s focus on growth, innovation, sustainability, and technology adoption.
Before Rallis India, Sanjiv held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the India Chemicals Business at Tata Chemicals. Prior to this role, he headed the Agri Retail Business and led organisational transformation, business excellence initiatives, as well as headed the Information Technology function. In 2010, Sanjiv was deputed to Morocco for two years as the Joint Managing Director at Indo Maroc Phosphore SA, a joint venture of Tata Chemicals. Before joining Tata Chemicals in 2004, Sanjiv spent 21 years at Hindustan Unilever (formerly Hindustan Lever), gaining extensive experience in various functions, including manufacturing and specialty chemicals.
Mr. B Raghavendra Rao
Independent Director
Mr. B Raghavendra Rao is a banker with over 33 years of experience in all facets of Banking. Mr. Rao retired as Deputy Managing Director at State Bank of India, Corporate Centre, Mumbai, in June 2023. He was in charge and handled two key business verticals, namely Treasury Operations and Corporate Account Group, at SBI’s Head Office in Mumbai from May 2019 to June 2023.
Mr. Rao has rich experience in International Banking Operations and has worked as CEO of SBI London during 2015-2019, and also worked at SBI Maldives and SBI Frankfurt Branches.
Mr. Rao holds a Post Graduate degree (M.Sc-Tech) in Instrumentation Engineering and is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers. He has also done a certification program in Risk Management conducted by ACAMS.
Mr. Rao has undergone on-site training courses in Business Management from the Chicago School of Business in 2019 and at the London School of Business in 2023.
Currently, Mr. Rao is serving as an Independent Director in Baroda-BNP Mutual Fund Trustee Company and chairs its Audit Committee. Mr. Rao is also the Advisor to the Investment Committee of Modulus Alternative Investment Managers Limited, a credit fund promoted by Centrum Group, Mumbai.
